This week students spent two library periods working with partners to solve coding puzzles with themes from Star Wars, Minecraft, Frozen, Moana and Angry Birds. Though the puzzles quickly became difficult to solve, students perservered with many finishing. The puzzles are scaffolded for non-readers to readers, so even our little kinders began with basic skills. You can find the puzzles students were working on here (you may have to click on Walterville under the elementary heading on the left side of the page to access the Walterville Library Home page). Scroll down and click on one of the links under the heading "Code" to see what your kiddos were exploring. There are also coding courses available at code.org where your child (and you too!) can work through courses in a fun, interactive way for FREE. Here's to creating little coders!
